We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Head to lead our biomedical engineering division and ensure the smooth functioning, safety, and compliance of all biomedical devices and systems. With a strong foundation in biomedical engineering and healthcare technology management, the ideal candidate will bring at least 15+ years of extensive industry experience, including leadership and hands-on technical expertise.
The Biomedical Head will oversee the management, maintenance, procurement, and innovation of biomedical devices, ensuring that hospital operations and patient care are supported with world-class technology and reliable equipment. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to drive continuous improvement in biomedical practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategy
Provide leadership for the biomedical engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Develop long-term strategies for biomedical device management and technology adoption.
Align departmental goals with the organization's mission to enhance patient care through advanced medical technology.
Biomedical Device Management
Oversee installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair of all biomedical equipment.
- Ensure devices meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of biomedical devices and monitor their life cycle.
Collaborate with vendors for procurement, servicing, and upgrades of biomedical equipment.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with national and international healthcare device regulations.
- Implement and monitor biomedical device safety programs.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain adherence to medical equipment standards.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with doctors, nurses, and hospital management to understand equipment needs and address technical concerns.
- Liaise with vendors, manufacturers, and service providers for procurement and maintenance contracts.
Support clinical departments by ensuring equipment availability and reliability.
Innovation & Technology Evaluation
Evaluate emerging biomedical technologies and recommend solutions for adoption.
- Implement innovative biomedical systems to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
Guide research and development initiatives within biomedical engineering.
Team Development & Training
Mentor, train, and develop biomedical engineers and technicians.
- Ensure the team stays updated with technological advancements in biomedical devices.
- Build a strong, skilled workforce capable of supporting a large hospital/healthcare setup.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in biomedical engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of biomedical devices, engineering principles, hospital equipment, and healthcare technology management.
- Proven expertise in vendor management, compliance, and biomedical device regulations.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on operational execution.
