(A) Dead freight management
- with shipping carriers to negotiate and establish dead freight contracts, ensuring favourable terms for the company.- closely with DF team to ensure the timely fulfilment of contracted dead freight tonnages by working closely with agency network.- and addressing issues faced by locations and aligning targets to ensure optimal utilization of Dead Freights.- divisional targets set for the slot chartering department by aligning with company’s policies and strategies.- profitability of Dead freights.- changing scenarios and prepare model ships and present it to the management.- long term, trustworthy relationships with vessel operators/ feeders. Collaborating and working closely with them to resolve operational issues.- and present feasible DF routes by researching on different services.- contract negotiations for slot chartering agreements.
- Slot management- and confirm slot rates provided by procurement in charges across key locations, including Persian Gulf, Red Sea, Southeast Asia, and Indian Subcontinent.- rapport with feeder operators to understand market scenarios and provide inputs to the trade desk and negotiate on present dead freights.- a comprehensive review of vendors, including feeder operators and Main Line Operators (MLOs), to assess their level of support in terms of space and slot allocation.- in negotiations with vendors to secure favourable open slot rates, considering market conditions, operational needs, and cost optimization.- training, developing, and supervising team members to maintain professional standards and peak knowledge levels related to internal processes, commercial market scenarios and regulatory / statutory requirements.- reporting techniques for tracking performance. Reviewing MIS reports (management information systems) with senior management for developing strategic business plans.- with accounts team to assess various elements of costs in liner business to ensure optimal cost management.- discussions for expansion of trade networks by assessing profitability of proposed trade routes.- and monitoring seamless transhipment operations.- and monitoring inventory and inventory movement at each location. Monitoring inventory sufficiency. Recommending empty repositions to ensure inventory availability at deficit locations.
