Job Description :

The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological assessment, diagnosis, and therapy to patients dealing with mental health issues. The role involves working with individuals, families, and groups to treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and other psychological disorders.

Key Responsibilities :

Patient Assessment :

• Conduct psychological assessments, including interviews, observation, and psychometric tests, to evaluate patients' mental health.
• Diagnose psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorders based on the assessment results.
• Develop tailored treatment plans based on the diagnosis and the patient’s individual needs.

Therapeutic Interventions :

• Provide psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based interventions for individuals, families, or groups.
• Use therapeutic techniques to help patients manage and overcome mental health problems.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy as necessary.

Collaboration with Medical Team :

• Work closely with psychiatrists, medical doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
• Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide input on the psychological aspects of patients' conditions to other healthcare providers.

Crisis Intervention :

• Provide emergency psychological support for patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
• Help manage and stabilize patients in critical mental health situations, including suicidal ideation, severe anxiety, or psychosis.

Counseling for Chronic Illness and Pain Management :

• Offer psychological support to patients dealing with chronic physical illnesses or pain.
• Help patients cope with the emotional and psychological impact of their conditions.

1. Education and Support :

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and the therapeutic process.
• Offer support and counseling to families dealing with psychological stressors or supporting patients with mental health disorders.

Record Keeping and Reporting :

• Maintain detailed and confidential patient records in compliance with hospital policies and legal standards.
• Prepare psychological reports, including diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Track and document patient outcomes and therapy effectiveness.

Research and Continuing Education :

• Stay updated with advancements in psychological therapies and techniques.
• Engage in hospital-based research or clinical trials related to mental health, if applicable.
• Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) activities.

Workshops and Training :

• Conduct workshops and mental health awareness programs for hospital staff and patients.
• Provide training sessions on psychological care to nurses, doctors, and other healthcare workers.
