As a Principal Engineer for Data Science and Engineering, you have the responsibility to develop data-centric solutions and take lead of comprehensive (sub-)projects with a direct impact on results. You will work with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines, professional backgrounds and specializations on a daily basis. Responsibilities: · Responsible for the successful development and implementation of innovative analytics and business insights by tapping into various domain-specific data sources that are available. · Develop GenAI solutions using the data sources that addresses business needs · Addressing on strategic and operational issues for enabling data engineering and data science topics within the domain by analyzing various data streams. · Understand business objective and translate it to Data science/GenAI objectives · Ensuring internal knowledge transfer between projects and stakeholders · Deriving new conceptual approaches and methods for future projects · Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams and sub-project management · Contributing to the identification and evaluation of potential applications for data-based decision and insights. · Lead discussions with various function-owners and brainstorm for ideas to solve problems. · Participation in data analysis from conception to model building, from data engineering to visualization · Ensuring the internal transfer of knowledge between projects and stakeholders · Contributing to the derivation of new conceptual approaches and methods for future projects · Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams · Participation in the development of individual (sub-)projects for the on-time, on-budget and on-quality delivery of project results as well as the tracking and control of the respective project risks Skills: · Experience working with Azure cloud tech stack (databricks / ADLS etc.), and knowledge of multiple cloud tech-stacks. · Experience building models in distributed computing (preferably pyspark) · Experience in Requirements engineering and (rapid) prototyping for the creation of BI/data analytics tools (Power BI/Python stack in Azure environment) · Experience with development and operations of data pipelines in the cloud (Preferably Azure.) · Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark · Deep expertise in architecting and data pipelines in cloud using cloud native technologies. · Good experience in both ETL and ELT Ingestion patterns, building and managing data pipelines. · Hands-on experience working on large volumes of data(Petabyte scale) with distributed compute frameworks. Leadership pre-requisites: · Has lead teams in the past with at least a size of 4-5 people with clear technical delivery responsibilities. · Has demonstrated undisputed will to succeed and has an ability to bring out the best solutions taking into account the engineering feasibility, costs and timeline in mind. · Is purpose-driven, entrepreneurial, driven-to-win.
