Job Title : Construction Manager - Infra Works (Onsite)
Job Location : Jagirod, Assam
Job Summary :
The Civil construction manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of the project, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, maintaining detailed documentation, and producing regular progress reports to keep all parties informed of project status.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Execution & Monitoring:
- Supervise and manage civil works on-site, ensuring alignment with project standards and design specifications.- Closely coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of project tasks.- Oversee the implementation of foundation works, structural steel, concrete, and other civil activities relevant to the projects.- Monitor the progress of work against the project plan and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
2. Documentation Management:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to the project, including design drawings, material approvals, permits, inspection reports, and change orders.- Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards and regulatory requirements for the project.- Track changes and modifications in project scope and update documentation accordingly.
3. Progress Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to senior management, detailing project milestones, completed tasks, and any delays or issues.- Assist planning manager to develop and maintain detailed schedules and tracking systems to report on project progress during construction.- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for improving project timelines and mitigating risks.- Communicate regularly with stakeholders, ensuring they are informed about project status, potential risks, and upcoming milestones.
4. Quality Assurance and Safety:
- Ensure all works are executed to the highest quality standards, meeting both company and industrial safety regulations.- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with project specification, safety standards, and environmental regulations.- Identify any potential safety hazards or quality concerns on-site and take corrective actions promptly.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Liaise with other discipline engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure the smooth integration of civil works with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, other utilities).- Attend project meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams to provide updates and address any concerns.- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of specialized materials and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.- Extensive experience in industrial project execution, particularly in civil engineering roles.- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD tools.- Strong understanding of industrial construction methodologies, materials, and safety standards.- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on large scale construction projects.- Proven track record of managing documentation and preparing progress reports for complex construction projects.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of project execution requirements, including site preparation, structural works, and utilities.- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and documentation management tools.- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Work Environment: Combination of site office and on-site supervision of work.
