We are hiring for Operations role

Role Description

This is an on-site full-time role for a Dry Bulk Operations role at Visa Bulk Shipping Pte Ltd, located in Chennai India. The ideal candidate will be handling & Supporting for all vessel operations and post fixture activities and ensuring all are aligned with the charter party terms. This role will be require to support senior Executive in all day- to- day operations in relations to loading and unloading of the cargo, relevant insurance and demurrage claim documentation.

Job Description


• Manage end-to-end shipping operations and post-fixture execution from pre-fixture stage through to voyage completion.


• Coordinate with global operations, chartering team, in-house marketing teams, and third parties (shipowners, Masters, agents, brokers, bunker suppliers and port logistics providers) to ensure smooth execution of voyages.


• Prepare and issue voyage instructions to vessels under time charter in line with governing charter parties.


• Review and verify shipping documents, including pre-stowage plans, bills of lading, statement of facts, and cargo manifests, etc.


• Administer freight and hire payments, prepare laytime/demurrage calculations and follow up on demurrage recovery.


• Nominate and negotiate with port agents at load and discharge ports; manage disbursement accounts and coordinate bunker supply, surveys, and port arrangements.


• Monitor vessel performance, cargo operations, and turnaround time at ports; liaise with Masters and owners on operational matters.


• Handle operational claims and disputes (e.g., cargo damage, shortage, laytime, underperformance) and coordinate with P&I Clubs, insurers, and legal counsel when necessary.


• Ensure accurate voyage P&L reporting and coordinate with accounts for timely settlement of payables and receivables.


• Contribute to continuous improvement in operational efficiency and risk management.

Requirements


• Diploma/Graduate/Masters/Mate, Maritime Studies, or equivalent


• Minimum
1 year of work experience
in Trader office / dry bulk shipping operations or similar


• Sailing experience is a plus but not mandatory


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office


• Location: Open to candidates from all over India (Office location: Chennai)


• Work week: 5.5
