Section Head

We are seeking an experienced Section Head Mechanical Maintenance (Rolling Mill) to lead the mechanical operations and maintenance of our Alloy Steel Rolling Mill. The role focuses on ensuring maximum equipment availability, high product quality, and strict adherence to safety and cost-effectiveness in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead operation and maintenance of rolling mill mechanical systems (stands, gearboxes, rolls, shears, cranes, hydraulics & lubrication systems).
• Develop and implement preventive/predictive maintenance schedules with a focus on safety-critical equipment.
• Ensure timely fault isolation and safe rectification of breakdowns.
• Drive modernization, reliability, and safety improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with Production, E&I, and QA teams for smooth operations.
• Enforce safety practices including LOTO, PTW, confined space entry, and crane safety.
• Maintain safety documentation and statutory compliance records.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for technical failures and near-miss incidents.
• Approve shutdowns, maintenance schedules, and vendor involvement for safety-critical work.
• Train and guide maintenance teams for safe handling of heavy and high-temperature machinery.

Educational Qualification & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma with extensive experience may be considered).
• years of mechanical maintenance experience, with 8+ years in Alloy Steel, WRM, or Bar Mills.

• Proven commitment to safety (LOTO, PTW, statutory compliance).
• Excellent troubleshooting & RCA skills to minimize downtime and risks.
• Strong leadership with ability to manage teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions in high-pressure, production-critical environments.
• Effective coordination across functions and clear reporting on equipment & safety status.

• Internal: Plant Head, Unit Head, Operations, E&I, QA, SHE, Stores & Procurement, Projects, HR.
• External: Vendors, OEMs, Service Providers, Regulatory Authorities, Contractors & Consultants.
