We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Econometrician with 8+ years of expertise in econometric modeling, time series forecasting, and data science expertise. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of Python, VBA for time series analysis, along with experience in geospatial data processing and NLP. This role requires end-to-end project execution, from data gathering and model development to deployment and performance evaluation. Senior Econometrician would be responsible for programming, testing, implementing, and maintaining digital tools to develop and support country insight offerings.

The role involves digital collation, dissemination, tracking, communication, and execution of new concepts. Work with economists to improve reports and product offerings by assisting in macro-economic modeling, forecasting, process automation, and innovation while working closely with global stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, responsible and team player.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced econometric and time series forecasting models.

Develop and validate forecasting models to identify trends, seasonality, and cyclical patterns, with a strong focus on accuracy and predictive power.

Work with geospatial data, including data extraction, processing, and model integration to address spatial dependencies, region-based analysis, and models for risk assessment (credit, macroeconomic scenario).

Apply NLP techniques to extract insights from textual data, including text mining, sentiment analysis, and topic modelling.

Perform hands-on data preparation, manipulation, and model training using Python and Excel-VBA, particularly for time series, panel, and multivariate data.

Prepare and present findings, model outcomes, and actionable insights to stakeholders, explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Create web-based dashboards using open-source techniques.

Implement data governance activities to regularly improve data, maintenance processes and workflows to deliver data meeting quality standards.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience in econometric modeling, time series analysis, or data science roles with an emphasis on end-to-end project delivery.

Master's or Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

Expertise in advanced time series models (ARIMA, VAR, GARCH, etc.) and multivariate econometric methods.

Strong experience with geospatial data processes and tools (e.g., GIS, shapefiles, spatial analysis).

Proficient in Python, Java, Spark, SQL, & Excel VBA, and APIs

Experience in new technologies and techniques, developing predictive solutions, statistical analysis, proficiency in NLP methods, including sentiment analysis, topic modeling, and text classification), image processing, web scraping.

Comfortable working on big data (large & diverse): tabular, satellites sensor data, text, voice & images for processing & forecasting

Expertise in visualization and business intelligence tools including Power BI, & Tableau and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to apply analytical methods to business challenges.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
