Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role

  • Should be able to work in dynamic and fast changing network. Should be able to work independently, should be able to work with no/little guidance
  • Must have experience on Symantec proxy environment, configuration of different access method like explicit proxy, firewall/VPN, content filtering, ssl interception, threat protection,
  • Reporting, WCCP, WPAD, troubleshooting etc.
  • Plan, design and setup of ASA firewall, installation and configuration of ASA, access rules, different natting configuration i.e, auto natting, manual natting, interface definition, routing, packet capture, troubleshooting related to firewall, Site to Site VPN configuration using ikev1 and v2 coordination with third party vendor for the agreement of VPN parameters troubleshooting related to firewall etc.
  • Configuration troubleshooting and administration of Netscaler load balancer, different methods of load balancing, vservers configuration, service binding, HA configuration, traffic domain etc. Application advertisement using reverse proxy etc.
  • Working experience of different routing protocols, OSPF and BGP, iBGP, EBGP, NLRI advertisement with BGP, config/ troubleshooting of different path attributes, route filtering inbound/outbound with route-maps, prefix length etc,
  • Route advertisement with OSPF, understanding of multiple LSAs, redistribution BGP and vice-versa E1/E2 route optimization,
  • Configuration troubleshooting and administration of layer 2 technologies, L2 Vlan,L3 Vlan, IVR, trunk and access ports etc.
  • Configuration troubleshooting and administration of different STP versions 802.1D,802.1w MSTPS, Link aggregation with LACP.
  • Configuration troubleshooting and administration of HSRP, VRRP.
  • Configuration/troubleshooting of SVTI using ikev2.
  • Understanding of basic QoS, classification and marking, policing etc.
  • Understanding of Riverbed Wan Optimizer, planning of setting up WO in network, configuration of Wan Optimizer for traffic optimization.
  • Plan/design and Setup of Cisco Meraki on remote stations based on the existing setup.
  • Working experience on different MX boxes will be added advantages.
  • Understanding of Python will be added advantages.
  • ITILV3, experience of MS service-now. Incident, Change and Problem Management etc.
