Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Manager Finance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of financial and statutory reporting functions for our regional office. Reporting directly to the Finance Controller based in Singapore, this role requires strong technical expertise in accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial and Statutory Reporting:

  • Manage month-end and quarter-end closing processes for the regional office, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and post accounting entries in the Accounting System, including journal vouchers and non-routine entries.
  • Compile and submit financial reports to the global headquarters, adhering to Singapore accounting standards, US GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Conduct cost variance analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and other schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly GST submissions.
  • Lead and liaise with external auditors for annual statutory audits, demonstrating independence and efficiency in managing audit queries.
  • Support the annual tax return process with the appointed tax agent.

Financial Operations and Management:

  • Manage weekly payments and issue payments to suppliers via check, GIRO, or TT.
  • Collect intercompany and other receivables.
  • Review and process payroll in a timely manner.
  • Own the Regional Recharges and True-Up Process, including issuing intercompany invoices and facilitating monthly settlements.
  • Ensure compliance with company Travel & Expense policies by reviewing and auditing employee claims.
  • Document and enhance existing policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Collaborate with Cost Centre Owners to develop accurate budgets and forecasts for Regional Offices.
  • Provide insightful analysis of regional office performance, recommending cost-saving opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
  • Analyze budget and forecast variances, communicating risks and opportunities to management.

Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Perform daily cash management for APME countries under cash pool management, analyzing borrowing requirements and reconciling actual versus planned cash positions.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and analyze variances and trends.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing Corporate Treasury activities or ad-hoc projects.
  • Manage relationships with key banking partners and financial institutions to monitor service delivery for the region.

Regional Oversight:

  • Review actual results and provide variance analysis for all APME countries.
  • Review monthly financial packages and balance sheets for selected countries in APME.
  • Conduct monthly closing activities at the regional level, including OUP flash reporting and DSO/AR overdue analysis.
  • Analyze financial reports submitted by countries, including monthly management reports, forecasts, and strategic plans.
  • Prepare country analysis for regional management and other ad hoc reports.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support the roll-out of new financial reporting systems or upgrades.
  • Collaborate proactively with internal and external parties to ensure ongoing compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work flexible shift timings due to reporting to the Finance Controller based in Singapore.
