Job Description:

Job Title: Senior Java Developer

Department: Software Engineering


Software Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring framework.
  • Experience with RESTful API design, development, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).


Overall Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and robust server-side applications using Java/J2EE and Spring framework.
  • Create, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Optimize performance, ensure scalability, and uphold security of applications.
  • Participate in code reviews and adhere to high development standards.
  • Write testable and efficient code.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and maintain core software to guarantee optimization and functionality.
  • Drive continuous improvement in software development processes.
  • Remain informed of industry trends and emerging technologies.


Categorywise Technical Skills:

  • Programming Languages: Expertise in Java.
  • Frameworks: In-depth knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot.
  • API Development: Proficient in developing RESTful services.
  • Database Management: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Version Control: Proficiency with Git or similar systems.
  • Testing: Experience with unit and integration testing using JUnit, Mockito, or similar tools.
  • Build Tools: Familiarity with Maven/Gradle.
  • Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.


Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of professional software development experience with Java/J2EE and Spring framework.


Day-to-Day Activity:

  • Engage in coding, debugging, and deploying software applications.
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings and participate in sprint planning.
  • Conduct code reviews and collaborate on system architecture decisions.
  • Interface with product management and QA teams to refine requirements.
  • Document development processes, code, and architectural decisions.


Qualification:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Java and Spring framework are desirable.


Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
