Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Bioinformatics Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience working with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, RNA-seq analysis, and bioinformatics pipeline development. The role involves utilizing software engineering practices to develop and optimize applications in cloud environments, with a focus on containerization technologies such as Docker.Key Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data analysis, focusing on RNA-seq and other omics data types.Design, implement, and troubleshoot scalable and reproducible workflows for high-throughput sequencing data.Utilize software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and continuous integration, to ensure robustness and maintainability of pipelines.Deploy, manage, and automate bioinformatics applications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).Work with containerization technologies, such as Docker, to package applications for scalable deployment in cloud or on-premises environments.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, biologists, and software developers to integrate tools and support research projects.Document workflows, write technical reports, and contribute to scientific publications.Qualifications:Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.4+ years of hands-on experience with NGS data analysis, including RNA-seq.Proven experience in bioinformatics pipeline development using tools such as Nextflow, Snakemake, or similar.Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python, R, or Bash.Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform for deploying and managing applications.Strong understanding of containerization using Docker, including creating, managing, and optimizing containers for bioinformatics applications.Familiarity with software engineering practices, including version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, and code review processes.Experience with software testing, including writing and executing unit tests, integration tests, and using testing frameworks to ensure code quality.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.comAbout Biostate AI, Inc.Biostate AI is building generative models for predicting the evolution of living organisms' health following drug dosing, emphasizing safety and toxicity.
