Web scraping engineer at stealth AI startup
This stealth startup applies AI to help hardware manufacturers manage their supply chain. We are currently in "stealth mode" but will share more information during the first interview round.

Responsibilities and Opportunities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining our infrastructure for scraping websites for specific pieces of information.
- You will be one of the first 10 hires in the company. While web scraping isn't all that glamorous, it's a critical part of our product, and you will take a leadership role in this project.
- You will start with writing scripts to scrape individual websites, and will have the opportunity to build and manage the architecture required to do this at a large scale. You will be able to make major architectural decisions.
- We're looking for a fast learner. As a fast-growing startup, this role can be a fast-track into highly technical, senior role in engineering leadership as the company grows.
- Above all, we’re looking for someone who can execute. If you don’t know how to do something, you can quickly learn how to do it. You are willing to work hard to ship fast while maintaining a high bar of quality.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of software development experience, including at least 1 year of web scraping experience
- Very strong Python skills and strong previous web scraping projects
- Proficiency in cloud technologies and databases (MongoDB, MySQL, AWS, etc.)
- Able to overlap 1-2 hours each day with Pacific time
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
