Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts and Tax Manager to manage the accounting, taxation, and financial compliance activities of the company. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Indian taxation laws, accounting principles, and regulatory frameworks, with a hands-on approach to financial management in a professional services environment. The candidate will get the opportunity to work on corporate advisory and consulting mandates of the firm as skill enhancement opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
Maintain accurate books of accounts (as per applicable accounting standards).
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations: AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and payroll accounting.
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely closure of audits.
Taxation & Compliance:
Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and Professional Tax returns.
Handle tax planning and advisory in line with the latest tax regulations.
Coordinate tax audits, respond to notices from tax authorities, and support assessments.
Monitor changes in tax laws and ensure compliance.
Client Billing & Revenue Recognition:
Ensure proper revenue recognition for time-based, milestone-based, or retainer consulting models.
Generate and review client invoices in accordance with contracts.
Track receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
Internal Controls & Documentation:
Implement and maintain strong internal controls.
Maintain documentation for financial records, contracts, and statutory filings.
Ensure proper accounting for employee reimbursements, travel expenses, etc.
Team Collaboration & Coordination:
Collaborate with consulting teams for budgeting, cost tracking, and project accounting.
Liaise with external consultants like CA firms, legal advisors, and tax consultants when needed.
