About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Systems and Infrastructure Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation and security of our IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, software, and user accounts. You will work collaboratively with other IT professionals and departments to ensure efficient technology support and contribute to the organization's success.

Responsibilities:

System and Infrastructure Management:

  • Maintain high server uptime and performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure smooth data flow and user experience.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software applications according to business needs.
  • Conduct regular hardware maintenance and upgrade or replace components as needed.

Data Security and Backup:

  • Implement and maintain robust data security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security risks.
  • Maintain comprehensive data backup strategies and regularly test backups for data integrity and recoverability.

User Management and Support:

  • Manage user accounts and access permissions according to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to users through various channels (e.g., email, phone, ticketing system).
  • Maintain a knowledge base of frequently encountered issues and resolutions to facilitate self-service and reduce support tickets.

IT Policy and Documentation:

  • Ensure all IT activities adhere to established IT policies regarding data security, password management, and acceptable use of technology.
  • Maintain and update IT documentation, including procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in incident management processes, identifying, logging, reporting, and resolving IT incidents effectively.
  • Stay updated on evolving technologies, security threats, and best practices in IT infrastructure management.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize resource utilization to reduce IT operational expenses.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance based on established metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in IT systems and infrastructure administration
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and virtualization technologies
  • Experience with system administration tools, backup and recovery solutions, and security software
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
