About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior Software Technologist (Database & Analyst)
with strong expertise in
PostgreSQL
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining large-scale databases, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. This role involves close collaboration with application developers, DevOps, and data teams to deliver robust data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize
    PostgreSQL databases
    for high-performance applications.
  • Write and maintain
    complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
    .
  • Perform
    database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
    .
  • Develop and maintain
    ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines
    for efficient data processing.
  • Implement and enforce
    data integrity, security, and backup strategies
    .
  • Collaborate with application developers to integrate PostgreSQL databases into software solutions.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support.
  • Optimize database
    partitioning, replication, and sharding
    for handling large datasets.
  • Implement and maintain
    PL/pgSQL scripting
    for business logic.
  • Work with DevOps teams on
    database deployments, version upgrades, and automation
    .
  • Maintain and update
    technical documentation
    for database structures and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience
    with PostgreSQL in development and optimization.
  • Strong expertise in
    SQL, PL/pgSQL, query tuning, indexing, and performance troubleshooting
    .
  • Experience with
    database partitioning, replication, sharding
    , and handling large datasets.
  • Solid understanding of
    ETL processes, data modeling, and schema design
    .
  • Knowledge of
    database security, backup, and recovery strategies
    .
  • Hands-on experience working with developers and DevOps teams for deployments and automation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and optimize database issues.
