Job Title: Legal OfficerIndustry: FMCG / Sports / FootwearQualification: BL/LLB from a recognized universityExperience Required: Minimum 3 years as a Legal Officer in a Corporate CompanyLocation: CHENNAIReporting To: CEO/ MDJob Purpose:To manage and oversee all legal matters of the company including contracts, compliance, litigation, and statutory obligations to safeguard the company’s interests and ensure legal compliance across all business operations.Key Responsibilities:- Drafting, reviewing, and vetting various legal documents, agreements, MoUs, distributor agreements, vendor contracts, lease agreements, franchise agreements, etc.- Handling legal compliance related to FMCG and footwear/sports product regulations, packaging norms, labor laws, and commercial laws.- Coordinating with external legal counsel for litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.- Providing legal advisory to management and internal departments on business transactions, contracts, and regulatory issues.- Ensuring statutory compliance under Companies Act, Legal Metrology Act, Consumer Protection laws, IPR laws, and other applicable regulations.- Managing legal notices, replies, consumer complaints, and documentation for legal proceedings.- Assisting in trademark registration, brand protection, anti-counterfeit actions, and IP-related matters.- Preparing legal MIS and maintaining documentation and contract repository.- Supporting HR and Admin on labor law compliances, disciplinary actions, and employment contracts.- Representing the company before statutory authorities when required.Desired Candidate Profile:- Law Graduate (LLB / BL) from a recognized university.- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Officer / Legal Executive in a corporate environment, preferably in FMCG, Consumer Goods, Retail, Sportswear, or Footwear industry.- Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial agreements, consumer laws, labor laws, and compliance frameworks.- Exposure to trademark protection and intellectual property matters will be an added advantage.- Ability to handle litigation coordination, legal drafting, and contract management independently.- Good communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.- Proficiency in MS Office and legal documentation tools.- Should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple legal matters simultaneously.CTC: Maximum gross up to 6 LPAIf your experience suits our JD, Pl share your updated resume to
