Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee financial operations with focus on general accounting and Sales Tax / Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Sales Tax / VAT regulations.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and file Sales Tax / VAT returns in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of VAT laws, policies, and regulatory changes.
  • Reconcile VAT accounts and record VAT transactions accurately.
  • Advise management on VAT implications for business transactions and recommend strategies for tax efficiency.
  • Work closely with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies regarding VAT-related matters.
  • Conduct internal audits to identify and resolve compliance issues.
  • Ensure timely payment of VAT liabilities and manage refund claims.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with knowledge of VAT compliance and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
