Job Description : Backend Development Lead (Node.js & Python)

Function :

Product & Technology - Backend Development

Technologies : Node.js, Python, Microservices, API Development, Database Management, Cloud Infrastructure

Job Responsibilities :

- Architect and Develop Scalable Backend Systems : Lead the design, development, and deployment of high-performance backend systems using Node.js and Python. Focus on building scalable, maintainable, and robust server-side applications.


- Microservices and API Design : Architect and implement microservices-based architectures that promote modularity and efficiency. Design and develop RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with other services and front-end applications.


- Database Management : Design, implement, and optimize database solutions. Manage relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases, ensuring high availability and performance.


- Performance Optimization : Continuously monitor and optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability. Address bottlenecks and implement strategies for load balancing and efficient resource utilization.


- Security Best Practices : Implement strong security measures in backend systems, including data protection, access control, and secure API design. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.


- Code Quality and Best Practices : Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Conduct regular code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure adherence to best practices in backend development.


- Cloud Integration : Oversee the integration of backend services with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), utilizing cloud-native features and services to enhance application performance and scalability.


- DevOps Collaboration : Work closely with Development teams to automate deployment processes, implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and ensure smooth operation of the backend services in production environments.


- Mentorship and Leadership : Guide and mentor a team of backend developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Provide technical leadership and support to junior developers.


- Troubleshooting and Debugging : Take ownership of backend issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions. Ensure minimal downtime and quick recovery from incidents.


- Requirements :


- Experience : 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in backend development with astrong emphasis on Node.js and Python. Demonstrated ability to design and build large-scale backend systems.


- Programming Expertise : Deep expertise in backend programming with Node.js and Python, including proficiency with modern frameworks, libraries, and tools.


Database Proficiency : Extensive experience with both relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases. Strong understanding of database design, indexing, and optimization techniques.


- API Development : Proven track record in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and easy to maintain.


- Performance and Scalability : Experience in optimizing backend systems for performance and scalability, including load balancing, caching, and horizontal scaling techniques.


- Cloud Expertise : Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and their backend-related services. Experience in deploying and managing backend systems in a cloud environment.


- Security Focus : Strong understanding of backend security principles, including authentication, authorization, data encryption, and secure API development.


- Problem-Solving : Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing backend challenges.


- Leadership : Experience in leading and mentoring backend development teams, with a focus on fostering collaboration and ensuring code quality.


Preferred Qualifications :


- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.


- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.


- Knowledge of serverless architecture and cloud-native development practices.


- Experience with monitoring and logging tools relevant to backend systems, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
