What will your job look like?

Working experience as Teradata and Snowflake Database Administrator. Manage and support production as well as development and QA databases to ensure maximum availability for various applications. Incumbent should perform DBA related tasks in key areas of System Administration, ,TASM, Database Administration, Backup, Archive & Restore Management, Performance Management & Reporting Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, Strategies defined for backup/recovery techniques, and problem determination and resolution. Role involves direct interaction with customer/vendors hence good presentation and communication skill is a must. Should be a good team player and ability to mentor small groups. Ready to work in 24/7 shifts and support extended hours as needed by projects. Behavioral skills: Strong technical, functional and analytical and Leadership skills. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes. Willing to work extended hours and in shifts. Self-motivated and result oriented. Team player who can work across functional, company, and industry boundaries. Eagerness & Hunger to learn. Good problem solving & decision-making skills. Good communication skills within the team, site teams and with the customer. Ability to work independently and drive issues to closure.

Technical Skills
Mandatory Skills: -
• Experience with Snowflake and Teradata DBA activities. 
• User management, Security management, performance management, High availability. management, space management, and backup management of databases.
• Strong exposure to TASM/TDWM. 
• Build and maintain secure, compliant data processing pipelines, tables, views, procedures and datasets.
• Integrate, transform, and consolidate data from various structured and unstructured data systems. into structures that are suitable for building analytics solutions and/or performing analysis.
• Use Enterprise Manager and other Azure services for availability and performance monitoring.
• System Performance monitoring using Teradata Viewpoint.
• Proficient in Teradata tools like Teradata Viewpoint/SQL Assistant /TSET etc.
• User, Objects and Security management as per Teradata Best practices
• Hands-on experience in Statistics Management
• Ability to write efficient SQL & exposure to query tuning (Teradata & Snowflake).
• Good at Unix commands and basic scripting
• Hands-on experience using DSA and Data mover.
• Strong debugging skills
• Well versed with ticketing system/production change request/ Incident management
• Exposed in managing/maintaining lower environments like Development/QA boxes
• Exposure to Teradata Utilities
• Exposure to troubleshoot FastLoad / Multiloading/ FastExport/ BTEQ/ TPT and should be good at error handling.
• Exposure to coordination of Software/Hardware Upgrade Activities
• Exposure to MVC, Capacity planning and performance Management
• Exposure to DWH Env (Knowledge of ETL/DI/BI Reporting)
• Exposure to PDCR Reporting and Analysis

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Teradata & Snowflake in a cloud environment (public or private) is a plus.
• Working Knowledge on Azure.
• Working knowledge on UNIX.
• Understanding of data archive/restore policies.
• Automating various processes.
• Understanding of Logical Data Model/Physical Data Model.
• Understanding of Normalization and De-normalization concept
