Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PHP Developer (Fresher / 0-1 Year Experience) to join our team at Techsmew Innovations.
The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in PHP, basic knowledge of WordPress Development, and a strong willingness to learn modern technologies and frameworks like , Laravel, CodeIgniter, etc.
Immediate joiners will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize WordPress Themes and Plugins using PHP
  • Implement simple frontend components using where applicable
  • Integrate backend functionality with frontend using REST APIs
  • Build robust PHP applications using frameworks like Laravel / CodeIgniter
  • Write clean, scalable and maintainable code
  • Assist in debugging and resolving issues in web applications
  • Perform database interaction tasks (MySQL) using appropriate queries or ORM
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement user-friendly interfaces
  • Participate in code reviews, version control (Git) and team collaboration
  • Stay updated and self-learn new technologies and tools as required
  • Be proactive in improving application performance, security and code quality

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of PHP (Core PHP)
  • Basic understanding of WordPress (Theme/Plugin Development, Hooks, Filters)
  • Knowledge of Laravel or CodeIgniter framework is a strong plus
  • Basic knowledge of fundamentals (Components, State, Props, useEffect, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of OOP concepts
  • Database knowledge: MySQL (Simple queries, Joins, CRUD operations)
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6)
  • Version control experience (Git)
  • Good problem-solving attitude and strong willingness to self-learn
  • Ready to work in a fast-paced environment and learn cross-skills beyond current knowledge

Additional Advantage (Preferred)

  • Prior experience in integrating frontend (React) with backend APIs
  • Exposure to Webpack, NPM, Composer
  • Understanding of REST API architecture
  • Willingness to learn full-stack development
  • Knowledge of basic security practices in web development
