About the Role

Software Development: Actively participate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software solutions. Taking ownership of software components/modules and ensure they meet the specified requirements and coding standards. And collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver robust and scalable software.Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical leadership and expertise. Contribute to the technical direction of the team and provide insights on best practices, emerging technologies, and industry trends. Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.Architectural Design: Contribute to the design and architecture of software systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.Problem Solving Analyze complex technical problems and propose effective solutions. Troubleshoot and debug issues in a timely manner, collaborating with team members to address challenges.Code Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for code optimization and performance improvements. Conduct profiling and analysis of existing code to enhance efficiency.Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and operations, to deliver end-to-end solutions. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on progress and addressing concerns.Agile Development: Work in an agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, API documentation, and code comments.Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices. Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement.Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. Write unit tests and participate in test-driven development practices.

Skills

Backend Development: Spearhead the implementation of scalable and maintainable server-side applications and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate backend systems seamlessly.Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas for performance and scalability.API Development: Design and develop robust RESTful or GraphQL APIs and ensure high-quality communication between the server and client applications.Mentoring & Guiding: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers. Conduct code reviews for the team.Performance Optimization: Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in backend systems. Implement and advocate for best practices in code optimization.Security Implementation: Stay abreast of evolving security threats and implement proactive solutions.Scalability and Reliability: Ensure high availability and reliability of backend services.Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, product managers, and stakeholders.Cloud and DevOps: Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, GCP).Familiarity with containerization tools Docker) and orchestration tools Kubernetes). Expertise in designing and implementing microservices architecture.

Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering (computer science, information systems)5- 8 years of experience building enterprise systemShould have hands on development experience with Object Oriented Programming (Java is preferred but not compulsory) on a large scale systemUnderstands and showcase ownership of the productsGood with concepts of scaling and worked with distributed systemsReview and influence new evolving design, architecture, standards and methods with stability, maintainability and scale in mindIdentify patterns and provide solutions to class of problemsResearch, evaluate and socialize new tools, technologies, and techniques to improve the value of the systemBe able to multi-task, prioritize and handle dependencies with minimal oversight.
