Students can consult a 24/7 support team of accommodation experts to discover, compare and book value-for-money accommodation based on their budget, desired location, and other personal preferences.


We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Next Js, Node.js) and Python. The ideal candidate must have 7+ years of professional experience developing and maintaining web applications. This role involves working on both the front-end and back-end of our applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

The candidate should be proficient in integrating user-facing elements developed with serverside logic, optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability, and implementing security and data protection.

Responsibilities :


1. Technical Leadership & Team Management :


- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster their professional development.


- Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, efficiency, and maintainability.


- Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards within the team.


- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (UX/UI, product, QA) to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.


2. Web Application Development :


- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of web applications using the MERN stack.


- Ensure the development of efficient, reusable, and reliable code that meets performance and scalability requirements.


- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic.


3. Technology & Innovation :


- Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in web development technologies, particularly within the MERN stack.


- Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and tools to improve development processes and enhance application performance.


- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.


4. Quality Assurance & Optimization :


- Implement robust testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.


- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness to user requests.


- Prioritize security and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information.


Qualifications :


- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).


- Minimum 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience with the MERN stack.


- Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams, with a track record of delivering successful projects.


- Strong understanding of web application architecture, design patterns, and best practices.


- In-depth knowledge of MERN stack technologies (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Next.js, Node.js).


- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.


- Experience with API development and integration.


- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.


- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
