Position : Librarian

Location : Banyan Tree School, Lodhi Road, New Delhi

Overview :

Banyantree School is seeking a dynamic and well-organized Librarian to manage and enhance the school's library resources and promote a culture of reading and research among students and staff.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
• Organize, catalogue, and maintain the library's collection of books, periodicals, digital resources, and reference materials.
• Assist students and teachers in locating and using resources effectively.
• Foster a love for reading through book clubs, reading programs, and displays.
• Teach students how to use library systems and reference tools for academic research.
• Develop and enforce library policies and ensure a quiet and respectful environment.
• Coordinate with academic departments to support curriculum needs through library resources.
• Maintain records of issued and returned materials and manage overdue items.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a school or academic library preferred.
• Familiarity with library management software (e.g., Libsys or KOHA).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Passion for literature and student engagement.
