About the role

Blackbaud is hiring a Manager of Data Science & Engineering to cultivate and lead data science and engineering teams that develop, test, deploy, and management of Blackbaud’s data and AI solutions. With a strong understanding of both data engineering and AI\ML workflows, this role will ensure that solutions are scalable, reliable, and deliver value to Blackbaud. They will lead by example and be an agent of innovation while inspiring those around them. They will develop employees through goal setting and coaching best practices and processes.


What you’ll do

  • Work in an agile development environment leading one or more data science & engineering teams.
  • Recruit and cultivate highly engaged teams by attracting high performing team members, coaching them on their career growth, and ensuring they are connected to the outcomes and purpose of their work
  • Manage performance of team members through goal setting and measurement, coaching, recognition, and feedback through regular one-on-one's and check-ins
  • Partner with Product Management and\or Business Units to establish objectives, prioritize team backlogs, and ensure engineering investment is represented and align on needs and prioritization.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of development processes through collaboration with peers and architects


What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years of experience managing data science & engineering teams in an agile environment
  • A history of delivering successful large-scale projects from inception to release
  • Experience working with a complex product portfolio and\or business unit stakeholders
  • Demonstrative experience in data science & engineering best practices
  • Facilitate conversations about scalability of data architecture to handle address diverse data challenges.
  • Partner to drive technical roadmaps, leverage standards and platforms, and enterprise platform and architecture
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence


What we’ll prefer you to have

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • Experience in Databricks, SQL, and Python
  • Experience in data and AI operating models, processes, patterns and technology, platform strategy, data value articulation, and responsible AI principles.
  • Experience managing remote teams and team members both onshore and offshore
  • Experience delivering process and technology changes across disconnected teams and organizational boundaries
