Purpose of Role:
At Gentrack, we are committed to ensuring that all our customers' data is protected, and that our work complies with data protection legislation.
The role of Data Protection Manager involves working closely with the Data Protection Officer and the InfoSec team to manage Gentrack’s policies and procedures in relation to data protection and ensure they comply with global laws and regulations.
Our ideal team member will:
· have excellent organizational, communication, management skills;
· have the ability to lead training sessions and workshops with members of staff;
· have the ability to work independently, but also to communicate with all relevant employees and functions;
· have versatile ways of working, and excitement to set up new processes and promote a culture of data protection compliance within the organization; and
· be open to undertake additional activities / responsibilities in the domain of information security.
Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Data Protection
· Work with the Data Protection Officer to implement the data protection programme roadmap within the organisation.
· Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
· Work with different functions to identify data protection risks and implement appropriate mitigating controls.
· Create and maintain data maps and inventories of personal information flow within the organisation.
· Conduct privacy impact assessments to assess the impact of new projects or initiatives on personal information.
· Conduct risk assessments and identify potential areas of vulnerability in data management practices.
· Respond to data subject requests and manage the organisation’s personal data breach response plan.
· Maintain up to date knowledge of changes in global data protection regulations and ensure policies and procedures are revised accordingly.
· Review and negotiate data protection clauses in data sharing and supplier contracts.
· Develop and deliver a data protection training and awareness plan for all business functions based on roles and relevant external third parties.
· Implement and maintain a privacy tool to ensure compliance across the organisation.
· Create an online repository of all data protection related policies, documents, practises of the organisation that can later be used as a self-service portal by business, sales, marketing teams as well as customers.
· Assessing sub-processors from a data protection point of view and ensuring proper documentation such as DPAs are entered into.
· Bring the organisation up to speed for privacy certifications such as ISO 27701, ISO 31700.
· Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organization.
· Work with the InfoSec team and pick up additional tasks / responsibilities in the domain of information security such as ISO27001 compliance.

Qualifications / Education
· Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the data protection / privacy space
· Expertise in EU data protection laws and practices (such as laws of Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore) and more specifically an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
· Experience within a legal, audit, InfoSec, and/or risk function department
· Strong project management skills
Desired
· One or more data protection qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/M etc.
· Work experience in Information Security, ISO270001, SOC2.
