Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Coimbatore or Bangalore


Responsibilities:

  • Modify existing or design new electrical assemblies, for safe operations of power and systems.
  • This includes system layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of moderate scope.
  • Gather features and functional specifications to plan, develop, and integrate controls for multi-axis motion and wafer handling systems.
  • Verify system safety features and present them to the safety team.
  • Electrical and sensor component selection and validation to commodity needs.
  • Create enclosure interconnect wiring and cable/harness design.
  • Debugging and assisting in troubleshooting of a variety of complex electrical problems in engineering, production, and field environments.
  • Collaborate with System, Mechanical, and Software engineers to define design requirements, generate product specifications, and develop electrical subsystems. Use internal design reviews to gain acceptance of concepts and hardware acceptance.
  • Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering tests. This may involve the qualification of systems to industry standards.
  • Generate technical documentation for product releases.
  • Scheduling projects within the assigned scope and keeping projects on schedule.
  • Deliver full engineering package, and support manufacturing to ensure a smooth transition into mass production. This may require travel to Contract manufacturers, subcontractors, or customer sites to assist in ramp-ups.
  • Solve challenging engineering problems by characterizing components, and designing/prototyping control systems, circuits, schematics, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineers in the Pacific time zone


Requirements & Skills

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with 3-5+ years of experience or equivalent.
  • Looking for someone good with their hands as well as theory-based engineering.
  • Experience in Industrial control and communication (PLC, EtherCAT, etc.)
  • Previous experience in Semiconductor, Solar, MEMs, or Industrial Capital Equipment industry preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D/LT and Robot & wafer or flat substrate handling systems and components preferred.
  • Knowledge of design and safety standards (such as NFPA-79/UL/CSA/FCC, SEMI S2/SEMI S8/F47/CE) preferred.
  • Familiarity with global sourcing and working with contract manufacturers preferred.
  • Team-oriented problem solver, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Familiar with test tools such as Meters, Scopes, and data acquisition equipment.
  • Sound technical knowledge of electrical & electromechanical concepts and applications - components, schematics, electrical system, cable & harness.
  • Experience with Engineering change management (ECR/ECO) processes using PLM/ERP systems.
  • Working with Remote virtual meetings.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to contract manufacturers, customer sites, or the Fremont location.
