Job Description:
Responsible for design, development, modification, and validation of cable harnesses for various electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and development of customized cable harness solutions.
Preparation, and maintenance of technical documentations such as bill of materials, technical drawing, general assembly layout, etc.
Design review with Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) and implementation of wiring harness. Review and Cost Optimization of customized solution. Exercising value addition and value engineering activities.
Propose OEM components and materials for cable design. (cable, cable connectors, relays, fuse selection).
Generating & compiling process detail (process sheet, approved product list, drawing etc) for new harness and modified existing wiring harness.
Demonstrate attention to detail and exhibit high quality in engineering documentation and expected to highlight low-high complexity technical risks and drive mitigation plans during project/task execution.
Advice/Consult supplier during product development phase to translate detailed engineering requirements into specifications, collaborate with internal and external cross functional teams for problem solving and design verification/validation.
Review drawings, attend status meetings, conduct Tabletop Reviews, peer reviews, Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, etc.
Conceive, architect, design, and develop electrical and electronic hardware
Accountable for delivering on time with quality as part of Key Performance indicators (KPIs), as well as consistent improvement in efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience in designing and developing cable harnesses for various electrical systems using CAD Tools like Capital Harness XE , CREO, AutoCAD, Ideas or PCAD (3D Cable Harness) .
Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software
Knowledge of electrical and electronic hardware design
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Cable and accessories knowledge
Cable Harness market knowledge
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to cable harness design
Knowledge on design for manufacturability in cable design.
