About the role/Job overview:
The NPD Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the skincare and cosmetics portfolio, from concept ideation to commercialization, by leveraging market insights, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and delivering innovative, high-quality products that resonate with consumers.
This role requires strong delivery records, and proven experience to own and execute strategic partnership with stakeholders to drive cost efficiency and deliverables. Strategic sourcing/ buying, Vendor Negations, Stock planning, timeline and budget planning are the key working areas.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Conduct market research & Identify customer needs and trends & lead the ideation process for new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, formulation, and marketing, to develop product concepts and specifications.
- Maintain the future product roadmap and optimize current product portfolio in accordance with brand development.
- Identify the contract manufacturer based on costing and proceed ahead.
- Work closely with suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all goods are procured and cost-effectively.
- Managing the creation of products across multiple skincare or cosmetics categories from concept to launch
- Create artwork briefs whilst also managing the artwork approval process
- Develop new product and product re-stage concepts, formulation and packaging
- Liaise with all suppliers to ensure all orders are on schedule.
- Lead communication with cross functional department on product brief, formulation, cost set up, art work, packaging etc.
- Effectively organizes, monitors and controls activities to ensure achievement of planned stage-gates.
- Track project cost and financials and reports deviations.
- Coordination with multiple teams for smooth launch as per timeline.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Any graduate or MBA.
- 2+ years of experience in Color Cosmetics, Skin Care, Hair Care and Personal Care/D2C / FMCG brands and total 4 years exp.
- Should have experience working on New Product Development, Product Costing, Project Management, Innovation.
- Experienced working with external stakeholders like vendors & manufacturers.
- Excellent Communication Skills in English and Hindi.
- Confident, Hustler, Bold enough to get work done through internal & external stakeholders.
