1X2 has pioneered Virtual Gaming products since 2002 and are now at the forefront of game development with over 150 titles, including Virtual Sports, Table Games, Slots, Instant Win and shortly Multiplayer games in the iGaming 

industry. The company boasts a wide range of household name clients (over 250 to be precise) including Bet365, BetVictor and Entain (Ladbrokes, Coral, Bwin etc). Several brands construct the 1X2 Network, each business targeting specific market niches. Our two main brands include Iron Dog Studio, and 1X2gaming, with a wealth of additional partners available on the Network.

The company boasts two UK locations – the 1X2 HQ is located in Brighton on the south coast of the UK and Brentwood in Essex. The Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated Java-based applications, providing technical leadership, and mentoring junior developers. This position is ideal for a seasoned developer who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality Java applications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver complex features.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure best practices and high code quality.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and decisions drive continuous improvement in software development processes and practices.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of technology and development within the company.


Required Experience

  • Extensive experience as a Java Developer, with a minimum of 7-10 years in a similar role.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and advanced design patterns.
  • Proficiency in Java SE (Standard Edition) and Java EE (Enterprise Edition).
  • Extensive experience with frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices architecture.
  • Expertise in SQL and relational databases such as MySQL.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum.
  • Experience with performance tuning, optimization, and security best practices.


Desirable Experience

  • Experience with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
  • Knowledge of advanced testing frameworks and methodologies, including unit, integration, and performance testing.
