Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Sales Head – Import & Export to lead and grow our international sales operations. This role is responsible for driving global sales performance, expanding the export/import customer base, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of international markets, trade laws, and strong experience in managing cross-border sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:1. Business Development – International Markets

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in international markets.
  • Build strategic relationships with global clients, agents, distributors, and trade partners.
  • Lead negotiations and close international sales deals with high-value clients.

2. Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement the sales strategy for import and export verticals.
  • Set sales targets by region, product line, and market segment.
  • Drive revenue growth through focused international sales campaigns.

3. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the import/export sales team across geographies.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (production, logistics, finance, legal, etc.) to ensure smooth execution of international orders.

4. Market Research & Trend Analysis

  • Analyze global market trends, competitor activities, and pricing benchmarks.
  • Provide insights on customer needs, emerging markets, and business risks.

5. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all international transactions comply with relevant trade laws, export-import documentation, customs regulations, and Incoterms.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government agencies as needed.

6. Pricing, Negotiation & Contracts

  • Finalize pricing strategies for global customers considering cost structures and market positioning.
  • Negotiate international contracts including payment terms (LC, TT, DA/DP), delivery timelines, and service levels.

7. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Oversee international shipments, documentation (invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin), and timely deliveries.
  • Resolve issues related to shipping delays, penalties, rejections, or non-payments.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, international trade laws, and customs compliance
  • Deep experience in global sales, business development, and international market expansion
  • Leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, HS codes, LCs, and international payment terms
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and CRM platforms

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related fields
  • MBA preferred
  • Certifications in Export-Import Management or International Trade are an added advantage

Preferred Industry Background:

  • Manufacturing / Trading / Chemicals / Textiles / Engineering Goods
  • Companies with significant international B2B/B2C operations
