Job Description

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Director

With a strong commitment to innovation and growth, we are expanding our team and seeking a dynamic M&A Director to lead our strategic initiatives.

As the M&A Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth trajectory of our client in Belgium through strategic mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. You will lead a talented team and work closely with senior executives to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions that align with our corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine the overall M&A strategy in alignment with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to ensure M&A activities support the company's long-term vision.
  • Deal Origination:
  • Proactively identify and evaluate potential M&A opportunities, partnerships, and investment targets.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential transactions through market research and networking.
  • Due Diligence:
  • Lead due diligence efforts for potential transactions, coordinating with cross-functional teams to assess financial, operational, and legal aspects.
  • Analyze and present findings to the executive team, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
  • Deal Structuring and Negotiation:
  • Develop deal structures that align with strategic objectives and financial goals.
  • Lead negotiations with external parties to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Execution and Integration:
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, working closely with legal, finance, and operational teams.
  • Develop and implement integration plans to maximize value from completed transactions.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, legal advisors, financial institutions, and potential targets.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an M&A professional, with a track record of successfully leading transactions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of M&A processes, legal regulations, and best practices.
