As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.
Job responsibilities Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters Perform mainframe database software upgrades coupled with administration and tuning to support DB2 environments Establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to database management, Disaster recovery, security, maintenance and utilization Analyzing new versions of DB2 for functionality that can improve systems performance and reduce cost Perform performance data collection, analysis, and tuning of DB2 systems Executes project and internal initiative responsibilities as assigned or delegated Participate in incident and problem management activities related to application and DB2 Perform problem diagnostics and resolution as well as change management Collaborate with other team members within same Information Technology (IT) departments, functional users and vendors to provide guidance and manage project implementation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments General knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and moderate proficiency in relevant scripting languages (., Scripting, Python, Hands on experience of installing and/or customizing software products Mainframe DB2 and/or data replication product suite. Experience working with large systems in data sharing SysPlex environment Demonstrates strong knowledge of resources available and demonstrated ability to use the resources for problem determination, product enhancements and other technical issues related to the components being administered Strong problem determination skills in both system and application areas Has the ability to work both as individual and as a team member with other subject matter experts and infrastructure DBAs A high level of personal initiative is a must to help us improve and optimize the solution Provide 24*7 on-call support Mainframe Infrastructure Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Preferred experience with IDAA, QREP, USP Tools, Guardium and CDC Replication Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: REXX, SQL, Unix Scripting, zOSMF Workflows, Python, Java and JCL Experience with design, configuration and support services to production and development departments running critical and 24*7 applications
