Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and select appropriate rigging gear and lifting tools (slings, chains, shackles, hooks, etc.)
  • Attach and detach lifting gear to loads and guide crane operators during lifting operations
  • Follow lifting plans and signals as per site safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre-lift inspections of equipment and ensure safe load limits are not exceeded.
  • Perform routine maintenance and report damaged rigging equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and site rules at all times.
  • Collaborate with crane operators, supervisors, and safety officers during lifting activities.
  • Interpret load charts, rigging diagrams, and method statements.
  • Assist in erecting and dismantling scaffolding, hoists, and temporary structures when required.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
