Position:- Emergency Medicine Consultant

Qualification:- MBBS, MD (Emergency Medicine)/MEM

Unit: Regency Hospital Ltd.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to lead and provide expert medical care in our Emergency Department. The Consultant will be responsible for the rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with acute illnesses or trauma. This role involves clinical leadership, supervision of junior staff, and coordination with other specialties to ensure timely and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the clinical management of emergency cases, including trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke, poisoning, and other acute conditions.

  • Perform and supervise emergency procedures such as:

  • Airway management (intubation)

  • Central and arterial line insertion
  • Chest tube placement
  • Defibrillation and cardiac pacing

  • Wound closure and fracture reduction

  • Make critical decisions regarding admissions, discharges, and referrals.

  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to residents, junior doctors, and paramedics.
  • Ensure smooth coordination with ICU, radiology, surgery, and other specialties.
  • Monitor and improve patient flow, triage, and resuscitation processes.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and SOPs.
  • Conduct morbidity and mortality reviews, audits, and quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in emergency drills, disaster preparedness, and trauma simulations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all clinical encounters.
  • Stay updated with the latest practices in Emergency Medicine through CME and certifications.
