Job Title: Production Supervisor – SS Vessel and Platform Manufacturing

Education Qualification: Diploma in mechanical engineering or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing, preferably within the SS vessel, platform, or heavy engineering industry.
  • Hands-on experience in stainless steel fabrication processes, including cutting, welding (TIG, MIG), and assembly.
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME) for vessel and platform manufacturing.

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage daily operations on the shop floor for Stainless Steel (SS) vessel and platform manufacturing. The role involves supervising production staff, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards, managing workflow, and resolving operational challenges. The supervisor will also ensure that production targets are met while maintaining high standards and safety.

Accountable and Responsible for :

1. Production Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day production activities of the SS vessel and platform manufacturing process.
  • Ensure production schedules are followed and any issues affecting timely completion are identified and addressed immediately.
  • Monitor the workflow of production, ensuring smooth transitions between stages of fabrication (cutting, forming, welding, polishing, etc.).
  • Track production progress and ensure daily/weekly/monthly production targets are met.

2. Worker Supervision :

  • Supervise and manage a team of production workers, welders, and operators.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, ensuring adherence to regulations at all times.

3. Quality Control :

  • Ensure that all SS vessels and platforms are fabricated according to project specifications, industry standards (e.g., ASME, BPE), and customer requirements.
  • Monitor welding and fabrication activities to ensure they meet required quality standards, performing inspections and coordinating testing (e.g., NDT, pressure testing).
  • Implement corrective actions for any non-conformance issues found during inspections.
  • Work closely with the quality control team to maintain the integrity of the product at every stage of production.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all safety equipment and machinery are properly maintained and meet operational standards.

5. Resource Management:

  • Oversee the use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery within the production area.
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation, minimizing downtime and machine by performing routine checks and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with the Production Planner to ensure adequate availability of materials and parts for production.

6. Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement:

  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving efficiency, and enhancing product quality.
  • Suggest and implement process enhancements or cost-saving opportunities based on observations and analysis from the production floor.

7. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, quality control results, and downtime.
  • Generate production reports and communicate progress to the Production Manager.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all quality checks, inspections, and safety audits.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially in metal fabrication and welding.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and knowledge of production management software (e.g., ERP systems, production scheduling tools).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspection procedures in SS vessel manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with GMP.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based in the production facility.
  • Exposure to shop floor environments with occasional noise, heavy machinery, and welding equipment.
  • Ability to work in shifts or flexible hours as production demands.
