Role : Engineering Manager Backend Golang based in Mumbai.

Job Description :

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Analyze customer traction, problems and drive long term technology vision and solutions to build + evolve the products' scalability, performance, reliability and supportability

- Take accountability for moving the key business metrics within your area and provide thought partnership to the product team and ensure collaboration among product, engineering, SRE, infrastructure and business operation teams

- Work with Product owners and managers to understand product vision and delivery roadmap

- Analyze how all elements of the functional, software and cloud ecosystem would work together and drive purpose-fit technical architecture design forward

- Develop technical specification artefacts, documentation, diagrams (HLD, LLD, TRD)

- Lead, manage and build a great developer organization through mentoring, recruiting, training, and support

- Build developers' toolkit and team structures following agile principles, POD-model, DevSecOps toolchain and CI-CD pipelines

- Drive comprehensive testing strategy, guidelines, and standards (TDD/BDD) following "Shift-left" mindset

- Manage Specifications, design reviews, development, code reviews, test coverage and debugging of massively scalable, event-driven microservices-based and high-performance cloud-native applications (Mobile, Web, Client).

- Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels.

- Identify and communicate project KPIs / matrices and ensure release objectives are met by delivering high-quality products

Required Skills and Experience :

- Engineering/ Master's degree in the field of Computer Science or equivalent from IIT/IIM/NIT/REC

- 6+ years of experience in software development and delivery, with in-depth knowledge of software architectures; must have at least 3 years of experience in leading mid-sized development teams for FinTech engagements.

- Must have developed at-least 1 demo-able game changing product / platform in B2C / D2C / B2B2C FinTech (pref.) or another domain.

- Designing (30%), Coding (50%), Managing teams (20%).

- Deep knowledge in DSA, multi-threading, distributed caching algorithms, transaction engines, load balancers, garbage collectors, distributed lock managers, replicated hot/standby systems, network management systems (CDN), virtualization, PaaS and IaaS.

- Strong systems design experience handling large data (batch and real-time), having scaled low latency distributed systems/grid compute /event-driven microservices-based mobile, full-stack and/or server-side applications on cloud.

- Usage of containers, pluggable frameworks, strong abstraction, virtual machine systems, cloud computing in product.

- Experience going through the full software cycle: designing, coding/testing, and rolling out best practices in delivering world-class software and services.

- Solid programming / architecture / designing / coding skills in either or both of Mobile Stack (Java/Kotlin/Flutter/React Native/Swift/Go) and / or Web Stack (MEAN/MERN).

- High level of proficiency and experience in few or many : AWS (or other) cloud, React, Redis, Postman, Kafka, Node, Golang, Postgress, GraphQL, containerization (Dockers, Kubernetes), agile methodologies, DevOps tools (Pref. Git ecosystem)

- Super good to have experience in one or many of exchange connectivity and low latency execution, algo/HFT, market data, trading/lending/wealth management mobile apps and high-level understanding of one or many Indian wealth, asset management brokerage, trading, lending and investing businesses

- A track record and passion for improving the code structure and architecture to enhance testability, security and maintainability.

- Exposure to high level hygiene guidelines like the one described in 12-factor app.

- Excellent people/leadership skills to grow and guide your team members; a passion for your team's mission and a self-starting personality to make things happen

- Must be an out-of-box thinker articulate, organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-changing entrepreneurial environment.

- Great project management skills to lead and juggle multi-engineer projects and deliver high-quality projects on time in partnership with product managers.
