ValueLabs is seeking an experienced UFT (Unified Functional Testing) Automation Tester to join our team. The UFT Automation Tester will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality of our software applications. The role involves working closely with development and QA teams to identify test requirements, design test cases, and maintain the automation framework.


Experience Range: 5 years to 7 years

Job Location: BCIT, Bangalore (Work from office 5 days a week)

Skills Set: UFT testing, VB Script, API Testing, Selenium, Keyword-Driven or Data-Driven or Hybrid testing framework, JIRA, SDLC and STLC, CICD etc. Banking/Finance domain is a huge plus.

Notice Period: less than 30days preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation Development:

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using UFT for web and desktop applications.
  • Create reusable, maintainable, and efficient test scripts to ensure coverage of functional and regression test cases.
  • Integrate UFT with test management tools (e.g., ALM, Jira) for test execution and reporting.


Test Planning and Design:

  • Collaborate with the QA and development teams to identify test requirements and design test plans.
  • Analyze functional requirements and create detailed automated test cases and scenarios.
  • Implement a Keyword-Driven or Data-Driven testing approach, depending on the project needs.


Test Execution:

  • Perform functional, regression, and end-to-end automated testing across various environments.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and report issues with detailed steps for reproduction.
  • Work with development teams to debug and troubleshoot issues.


Maintenance of Test Scripts:

  • Maintain and update existing automated test suites to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest application features.
  • Update UFT scripts when there are changes in application functionality.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Document all test results, issues, and defects in a detailed and organized manner.
  • Provide regular test progress and status reports to stakeholders.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with UFT (Unified Functional Testing), including test script creation, execution, and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of VBScript for creating and enhancing test scripts.
  • Experience with ALM/QC (Application Lifecycle Management/Quality Center) for test management and integration with UFT.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Data-Driven, Keyword-Driven , or Hybrid frameworks .
  • Proficiency in identifying, logging, and tracking bugs/issues using tools like Jira , Bugzilla , or other defect tracking tools.
  • Good understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in automation testing using UFT or QTP and API Testing
  • Familiarity with API Testing and performance testing tools.
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for test automation.
  • ISTQB or other relevant software testing certifications.
