We are looking for an experienced Freelance Senior Website Developer who can not only build and optimize websites but also audit existing websites for design, content, performance, and SEO. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of providing actionable insights that improve user experience, search visibility, and overall site effectiveness.

This is a freelance/consultant role, with flexible hours and project-based assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website Audits
  • Conduct in-depth audits of websites covering design, usability, content quality, technical structure, and SEO performance.
  • Provide detailed reports with prioritized recommendations for improvements.
  • Benchmark sites against competitors and industry best practices.
  • Website Development & Optimization
  • Build, customize, and optimize responsive websites and landing pages.
  • Improve site speed, navigation, and overall user experience.
  • Implement technical SEO fixes (sitemaps, schema, structured data, on-page SEO).
  • Collaboration & Consulting
  • Work with stakeholders to align audit findings with business goals.
  • Suggest improvements for content strategy and design consistency.
  • Stay updated on latest web technologies, Google search algorithm updates, and UX/UI trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–7+ years of professional website development and SEO-focused web consulting.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Vue/Angular).
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Headless CMS).
  • Strong understanding of SEO tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog).
  • Knowledge of performance optimization tools (PageSpeed Insights, GTMetrix, Lighthouse).
  • Audit Skills:
  • Proven track record in conducting design, content, and SEO audits.
  • Ability to present findings in clear, actionable reports.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and client-facing consulting abilities.
  • Self-driven, reliable, and able to deliver within deadlines.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento).
  • Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) strategies.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG).
