Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC/ID Grinding Supervisor to lead and manage our grinding department. This position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of CNC and Internal Diameter (ID) grinding machines, ensuring that production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, hands-on machining expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Role & responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of machinists and operators working on CNC and ID grinding machines.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
  • Set up and operate CNC and ID grinding machines as needed to support production.
  • Ensure proper machine maintenance, tool changes, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor machining processes to ensure products meet quality specifications and tolerances.
  • Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance technical skills and work performance.
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and planning departments to improve productivity and resolve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records, logs, and reports.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience with Fanuc, Okuma, or other CNC control systems.
  • ERP system experience for job tracking and scheduling (e.g., SAP, Epicor).
  • OSHA training or safety certification.
