Factory Supervisor – Furniture Manufacturing

Job Summary:

The Factory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the furniture production unit, ensuring that production targets are met with high quality, efficiency, and safety standards. This role requires technical expertise in wood processing and furniture production along with strong team management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in furniture production, assembly, finishing, and packaging.
  • Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on order requirements.
  • Ensure efficient use of raw materials, minimize waste, and monitor inventory levels.
  • Interpret furniture design drawings and ensure accurate execution on the shop floor.
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to product standards and specifications.
  • Ensure machinery, tools, and equipment are in proper working condition ; coordinate maintenance when necessary.
  • Monitor labor productivity and provide training or support to improve worker efficiency.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Report daily production metrics, delays, and any issues to management.
  • Coordinate with procurement, design, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong technical knowledge of woodworking processes, joinery, finishing, and furniture assembly.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and design specifications.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in production planning and resource allocation.
  • Understanding of quality control standards in furniture manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in operating woodworking machinery (CNC, panel saws, edge banders, etc.).
  • Background in modular or custom furniture production is a plus.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or process optimization is an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Wood Technology, Furniture Production, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a furniture manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
