Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Drayage Freight Broker to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight brokerage, particularly in drayage services, and a proven track record of generating new business and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Business Development:
• Identify and pursue new sales leads to expand the client base.
• Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, carriers, and vendors.
• Present and promote drayage solutions to prospective clients.
• Client Management:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met.
• Negotiate rates and service agreements with clients and carriers.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support.
• Operational Coordination:
• Coordinate and oversee drayage shipments from origin to destination.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with the operations team to optimize routing and scheduling.
• Market Analysis:
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
• Provide insights and recommendations to enhance service offerings.
• Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client communications, and transactions.
• Prepare regular reports on sales performance and market feedback.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a freight broker or in a sales role within the transportation industry, with a focus on drayage services.
• Strong knowledge of drayage operations, intermodal transportation, and port regulations.
• Established network of contacts within the drayage and freight industry.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
