Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Linux Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cloud infrastructure, supporting Linux environments, and troubleshooting complex issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:- Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based cloud servers and virtual machines on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.- Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, and security.- Provide Level 2 support for Veritas, handling build, operations, and patching activities.- System Administration:- Perform day-to-day Linux server administration, including user management, system updates, and software installations.- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.- Troubleshooting & Support:- Provide Level 2 support for escalated issues related to Linux servers and cloud services.- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems.- Security & Compliance:- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux servers and cloud environments.- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry regulations.- Performance Optimization:- Optimize system performance and resource utilization for Linux servers and cloud resources.- Perform capacity planning and scaling to meet growing business needs.- Backup & Recovery:- Manage and verify backup and recovery processes for Linux servers.- Develop and test disaster recovery plans.- Documentation & Reporting:- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.- Generate and review performance reports and logs.- Collaboration & Training:- Work closely with other IT teams, such as network and application teams, to ensure seamless integration of services.- Provide training and support to junior engineers and other team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in Linux system administration and cloud computing.- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).- Experience with cloud infrastructure services (e.g., EC2, S3, Azure VMs, Google Compute Engine).- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, Grafana).- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Administrator Associate are preferred.
