The Engineering Challenge
“Re-imaging credit and payments from First Principles”
Payments is an interesting engineering challenge in itself with requirements of low latency, transactional guarantees, security, and high scalability. When we add credit and engagement into the mix, the challenge becomes even more interesting with underwriting and recommendation algorithms working on large data sets. We have eliminated the current call center, sales agent, and SMS-based processes with a mobile app that puts the customers in complete control. To stay agile, the entire stack is built on the cloud with modern technologies.
Role and Responsibilities :-
- Deliver BRE & Underwriting Projects: Manage the implementation of underwriting and Business Rules Engine (BRE) projects for credit card products, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Develop Credit Card Underwriting Rules: Design and refine data-driven underwriting rules for credit card applicants, aligning with company risk policies.
- Implement and Maintain BRE: Build, configure, and maintain the BRE to automate and streamline credit decision-making processes.
- Leverage Python and SQL for Data Analysis: Use Python and SQL to develop, test, and implement credit models that optimize approval rates while managing risk.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with credit risk, fraud, compliance, and technology teams to ensure smooth integration of underwriting rules and BRE logic.
- Track and Report Performance: Use SQL to create reports and dashboards that monitor the effectiveness of credit decisions, underwriting rules, and BRE performance.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Regularly analyze performance data to identify and implement improvements in underwriting and BRE rules.
