As part of our growth, we are looking for an
Assistant Manager – Design
in our
New Product Development (NPD) department .
Roles & Responsibilities
Design and develop
press tools, welding fixtures, gauges, and jigs
for sheet metal and fabricated components.
Interpret and review
engineering drawings
to create process-friendly designs.
Support the NPD team in
part feasibility studies, process design, and BOM preparation .
Work closely with the
tool room, production, and quality departments
for design validation.
Assist during
development trials , resolve tooling-related issues, and ensure manufacturability.
Contribute to
APQP & PPAP deliverables
in customer formats.
Liaise with external toolmakers and suppliers for outsourced tooling requirements.
Maintain technical documentation and design records.
Provide support during
audits, technical reviews, and customer approvals .
Preferred Candidate Profile
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
6–9 years
of relevant experience in tool, fixture, and gauge design in the automotive/sheet metal industry.
Strong knowledge of
press tools, welding fixtures, and gauge design .
Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo/Pro-E, UG-NX).
Familiar with
APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, and OEM-specific standards .
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly.
