Responsibilities :


- API Design and Development : Design, develop, and implement APIs that align with business requirements, industry best practices, and standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather API requirements.


- API Gateway Configuration : Configure and manage API gateways to facilitate secure and efficient communication between systems. Ensure proper authentication, authorization, and traffic management.


- Lifecycle Management : Manage the full lifecycle of APIs, including versioning, deprecation, and retirement. Implement effective strategies for version control and API lifecycle maintenance.


- Security and Compliance : Implement security measures to protect APIs and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Regularly conduct security assessments and address vulnerabilities.


- Monitoring and Performance Optimization : Implement monitoring tools and processes to track API performance, availability, and usage. Optimize API performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability.


- Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation, including API specifications, usage guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.


- Collaboration and Support : Collaborate with development teams, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate APIs into various applications. Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to developers using the APIs.


- Analytics and Reporting : Utilize analytics tools to gather insights into API usage patterns, user behavior, and system performance. Generate reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.


- Capacity Planning : Evaluate and plan for API capacity to handle increasing loads and growing user bases. Scale API infrastructure as needed to meet business demands.


- Stay Updated : Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in API management.


- Apply new knowledge to enhance existing API solutions.


- Configure API Proxies & API Products using SAP API Management / Apigee.


- Apply API Policies for security, traffic management and mediation.


- Hands-on knowledge in swagger, REST and webservice concepts.


- Hands on experience in implementing SSL, OAuth grant types.


- Implement Error Handling & Alerting.


- Knowledge of Exposing APIs hosted on-premises as well as APIs by SaaS providers.


- Knowledge of OData services and experience integrating with OData APIs.


- Lead the User Acceptance Testing and complete issue resolution.


- Team player, good communication skills.
