About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Laravel and PHP to maintain and migrate existing applications into a React Native environment. This role requires not only strong technical skills but also the ability to work within a team, write clear documentation, and leave well-noted code so other developers can continue the project smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend systems using Laravel & PHP.
- Design and document REST APIs to support React Native front-end applications.
- Migrate legacy PHP/Laravel systems into scalable, modular structures.
- Write well-documented code with clear notes and comments for team collaboration.
- Collaborate with designers, front-end developers, and mobile engineers to ensure seamless integration.
- Implement secure authentication, caching, and performance optimization.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor team members on backend best practices.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of backend development experience with Laravel & PHP.
- Strong understanding of MVC architecture, Eloquent ORM, Blade templates, and Laravel ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL (database design, query optimization).
- Ability to create clean, documented, and maintainable code.
- Familiarity with React Native or React.js (to support integration/migration projects).
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud environments.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team-oriented mindset with proven collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience migrating from monolithic to microservices.
- Exposure to Node.js or other modern backend frameworks.
- Knowledge of mobile app performance optimization.
