Security Engineer/Architect


We're looking for a security champion to join our engineering team building a state-of-the-art Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform across major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).


Responsibilities:

  • Security Champion: Design and implement secure authentication, authorization, data management, and network solutions within a cloud-based platform. Apply security best practices across all major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Cloud Security Specialist: Develop components that integrate with platform-specific security services (IAM, key management) to ensure account and data isolation in a multi-tenant environment.
  • Security Architect: Lead security architecture design and code reviews for new features and initiatives. Drive implementation of secure practices like key management, encryption, data privacy, authentication, and least privilege.
  • Threat Mitigation Expert: Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments during the design phase of new components and features.
  • Technical Security Leader: Foster secure development lifecycle (SDLC) practices within the engineering team. Contribute to security incident response plans and disaster recovery procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of software development experience with 5+ years building distributed cloud systems.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on development experience in Golang.
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) & Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC)
  • Data encryption schemes with secure key handling on the cloud platforms
  • Cloud network security (peered VPC links, Private Links, firewall configuration, ACLs)
  • Strong understanding of security best practices:
  • Experience with one or more major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their security reference architectures. Relevant certifications a plus.
  • Experience designing and managing large-scale distributed systems in the cloud with clear security boundaries.
  • Excellent communication skills to drive consensus with stakeholders across the organization.
