Our client is looking for a highly experienced and influential Staff GenAI Engineer to lead the design and implementation of advanced Generative AI solutions within our Agile framework. You will be instrumental in shaping our technical direction, mentoring junior engineers, and driving innovation across complex projects.
This position requires working with many cross functional teams and applications. If you thrive on solving hard and complex problems, then this could be a great fit for you. Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of complex Generative AI solutions across full-stack environments.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies, continuously experimenting with and integrating cutting-edge tech trends.
- Actively mentor other members of the engineering community, fostering growth and best practices, and participate in external technology communities.
- Partner strategically with business analysts to translate complex customer needs and use cases into technical designs, leading the development of innovative POCs from conception to deployment.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with teammates, customers, and vendors, acting as a key technical liaison.
- Oversee and define standards for comprehensive documentation of requirements and architectural designs for custom solutions.
- Perform advanced, in-depth analysis of complex requirements, defining compatibility standards and enforcing architectural best practices.
- Own the management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing functionalities, proactively addressing and resolving critical issues.
- Drive the creation and ownership of architectural and technical project documentation, ensuring clear, detailed, and comprehensive system design, implementation, and configurations.
Skills:
- 8+ years of robust, hands-on development and design experience in software engineering.
- 3+ years of in-depth experience in multiple areas such as Deep Learning, LLMs, NLP, Speech, Conversational AI, AI Infrastructure, Fine-tuning, and optimizations of PyTorch models.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, with strong experience in other languages like Java, Go, Rust, or C/C++.
- Extensive experience with multiple Large Language Models (LLMs) (e.g., Llama, GPT, Claude, Falcon), understanding their architectures, limitations, and application.
- Deep expertise in at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch and/or JAX), including advanced techniques for model training, optimization, and deployment.
- Proven experience designing and deploying scalable, high-performance cloud solutions for AI, preferably on AWS.
- Demonstrated ability to present complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and executive business audiences, influencing decision-making.
- Proven thought leadership, significantly influencing the design, implementation, and ongoing support of critical business POCs.
- Experience coaching and developing individuals, and working effectively with geographically dispersed teams, is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly master and apply unfamiliar technologies and complex concepts.
- Excellent verbal and written technical documentation skills, with the ability to articulate intricate system designs and architectural decisions clearly.
