Job Responsibilities


Responsibilities
Position Purpose
To lead the engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel in order to ensure a high standard of building, machinery, plant, furniture, fixture and equipment in all the departments. Achieve total guest satisfaction and organizational profitability through effective utilization of all resources.

Responsibilities

·Implement systems and procedures that ensure safety of guest, employees, plant, machinery and property.

·Staffing and scheduling of the department and allocation of duties.

·Develop systems and procedures that achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction.

·Facilitate learning and development for all the team members of the department.

·Performance Appraisal/ Management of the staff in the department.

·Co-ordinate with Executive Housekeeper, Front Office Manager and other HODs on preventive maintenance of rooms and other repair work

Reporting relationship

Reports to Chief Engineer

Interdepartmental Interaction

Varying degree of interactions with all departments

Task statements

·To take decisions on Preparing Shift Schedules-, Manpower planning, Leave Planning /sanctioning For the Staff, Job Allocation, Log Books, Reports-Responsible For Any Negligence Affecting Our Hotel Operations/Departmental Operations.

·GSTS Tracking-Improvements On Process/ Procedures ,Documentation, Preparing Necessary Checklist/follow ups

·PM Schedules for all the equipment’s Supervision /Investigation On 100% Adherence.

·Balance Scorecard / other corporate directives - Implementation and Documentation.

·Controland Monitor On Energy Resources/Documentation/ Savings To Be Achieved

·Target As per HOD’S instructions / Budget

·Preparing Engineering Monthly Reports, Internal Process, BSC, TBEM and any other corporate SOPS

·Repair Jobs Contractors Inviting Quotes, Scrutinizing Bills, Checking Quality Of Work Done and control on R&M budget –Target/finalization to be checked with HOD.

·Break down Analysis of Equipment’s to be prepared and monitored.

·Training Of Departmental/Interdepartmental Staff on Various Subjects.

·Electrical generation & distribution-compliance Govt. rules, Repairs, Maintenance Of Power Related Equipment Follow-up/ Execution Of Works.

·Interdepartmental Job Orders Execution/Documentation.

·Staff Performance Appraising Regularly.

·Planning and executing Capex/ Renovation Works.

·AMC Machinery’s Service Due Schedules to Prepare and Follow-up.

·ESTS Processing/Implementation.

·TPM Process implementation

·Fire Equipment’s P.M schedules Follow-up

·Control over requisitions & Indents

·Internal audit reports adherence implementation.

·Control on departmental staff discipline.

·Protecting the safety of the property.

·Adhering the Govt. statutory compliance’s like pollution control board norms, fire safety etc.

·Keep informed ofIndustry innovations and advances to staff’s

·Maintain complaint management system to ensure timely response to all the complaints.

·Follow the TCOC and ICM

·Analysis of Eng. department operations and provide feed back to HOD

·Participation in Meetings and provide necessary review on operational issues related to Maintenance functions.

·Up keep and repair of Equipment’s with in stipulated time with available work force. If it is needed contractor help to be sorted .(Except civil work)

·Any major Repair works to be done HOD’s approval to be sorted ( Exception on Emergencies)

Requirement
Knowledge/Skills
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil and related equipment and working knowledge of all other plant, equipment and utilities.
• Energy & environment conservation techniques
• Knowledge of Automated building management system, work request systems, fire alarm and sprinkler systems etc.
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Knowledge of statutory compliances related to electrical fittings, boilers etc.
Education
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering / 3 years Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Experience
• Progression through various positions in the Engineering department, and a minimum of 2 - 3 years experience in the Engineering & Maintenance function.
